 | She has many adventures that all go horribly wrong, simply from bad luck when she doesn't realize that her actions didn't exactly make matters any better. Perfect example of the bad luck would be her adventures in babysitting. An example of screwed up perceptions in "The Monster From the Clock." You must read the book to figure out any notion of what I'm talking about. Lenore #2 is an excellent book. My favorite parts have to be the "Little Bunny Foo Foo" and "A Walk in the City" pages. "Little Bunny Foo Foo" is just a retelling of an age-old nursery rhyme with a bit of a twist that only Roman and Lenore could put on it. Lenore's walk in the city involves a really annoying lady who is set on making Lenore smile. It then segues into a twisted story of 'gotcher nose' and there's blood and screaming. The moral of the story is don't go walking alone or don't talk to strange little girls and try to make them smile. It'll only lead to bad things. Uh...yeah.Well this is one of my favorite cartoons... Lenore #3 arrived in stores on September 16, 1998. I bought it shortly thereafter and read it over 10 times during my over amount of free time. The comic was fabulous. I think it was the best yet. Roman did a small strip about all his tattoos and what the medical examiners will do when he dies, it was funny... If I said more about that strip, it would ruin it, go get the book. There's also a one page thing done by Jhonen in the very end. It was very much in the B.A.C. style. Lenore tries to get a job at a Chinese restaurant (hee hee). She meets Ragamuffin, a vampire scourge and Georgie Porgie gives her a peck on the cheek. It's all very much funny.Lenore #4 is being worked on and will be around sometime in December and Roman's doing a book of children's stories for demented children called, Something at the Window is Scratching. It looks like it will be good too. There's just all kinds of good stuff coming from this man and you should buy it all. Or if you don't want it, buy it and send it to me :), I will gladly take it off your hands. #4 was due in early December, supposedly but didn't get out til mid-late January. Thas okay. It arrived, I bought and loved it. The best yet. It contains the return of Mr. Gosh, Lenore's love stricken wannabe boyfriend. He's been killed twice but keeps coming back for more. I think he may be the one thing that scares Lenore. There's also a sad story about a robot, another about a party clown who momentarily loses it, Taxidermy which defies explanation, a very messy game of leap froggie and muffins. There's also another "Things Involving Me" which is just plain silly, but I liked it. I just all around really liked this issue. The cover was really cool too. I bought Lenore #5 and I didn't like it. It was a complete let down. Possibly the worst issue he's ever done. It hurts to say that, actually. It's probably why I haven't said anything about it since I bought it so long ago. Also why I haven't bothered to go out and buy any further issues. I like Lenore a lot, but this issue blew. The only remotely funny thing was the things involving me and the second Little Bunny Foo Foo sketch. Lenore is so damn cute in that suit. (look at me, I'm a poet and had no idea) Being as that Roman doesn't do continuous storylines, really, this is one to skip. Sorry.
